1.What is memorial / remembrance / cremation jewellery?
Memorial jewellery is jewellery designed to hold a small amount of ashes, hair, fur or other sentimental keepsakes. Our personalised memorial jewellery is handcrafted in the UK and allows you to carry a loved one close.
2. How does ashes jewellery work?
Ashes jewellery contains a tiny, respectfully handled amount of cremation ashes, set securely into the piece using specialist resin techniques. The ashes are permanently sealed inside your jewellery so they cannot fall out or be disturbed.
3. Can The Ashes Be Removed?
No. Your ashes are sealed inside the jewellery using professional techniques, ensuring they are fully protected and cannot be removed. Each piece is designed to be worn daily without risk of damage or loss. The ashes are safe within the specially formulated resin.
4. How much ashes are needed?
We only need a very small amount – around 1 teaspoon is enough to complete several pieces of jewellery. The rest of your loved one’s ashes are returned to you safely.
5. Can I include hair, fur or fabric instead of ashes?
Absolutely. We can incorporate:
- Hair
- Fur
- Fabric
- Flowers
This makes your jewellery truly unique and personal.
6. Is your memorial jewellery handmade?
Yes. All our memorial jewellery is handmade in the UK in our small rural studio using traditional and more modern silversmithing techniques and of course, skilled craftsmanship. We work closely with selectively chosen ethical suppliers who share our ethos for sustainability and quality.
7. Do you offer personalised engraved memorial jewellery?
Yes. Every piece is made to order and fully personalised.
Our MemoryTouch Engraved silver paw print, hoof print, boop print, finger print, hand print, foot print, all make beautiful personalised memorial jewellery, particularly when you don't have ashes, hair or fur. We can engrave pendants or bracelet charms with any of the above.
8. How long does memorial jewellery take to make?
Our average turnaround time is 6 weeks, as each piece is handmade from scratch. This allows us to give every order the care and attention it deserves. Busier periods can often mean a slightly increased timeframe. Gold items or larger silver pieces requiring hallmarking also taking slightly longer again.
9. How do I send ashes safely?
We provide clear instructions once you order. On completion of checkout, a comprehensive inclusion kit is sent to you. This kit will include everything required for you to return your inclusions safely to us. Complete the enclosed form, and place it securely with your inclusion container in the addressed envelope provided. Please endeavour to return this to us within 14 days of receiving your inclusion kit.
10. Will my ashes be returned?
Yes. Any unused ashes, or other inclusions, are carefully packaged in a small ashes pouch and returned to you with your completed jewellery.
11. Can I wear ashes jewellery every day?
Yes, but we recommend:
- Removing for swimming & bathing
- Avoiding harsh chemicals
- Storing safely when not worn
This keeps your jewellery looking beautiful for years.
12. How do I care for my memorial jewellery?
Clean gently with a soft cloth
Avoid perfumes & sprays
Store in a jewellery box
Do not use abrasive cleaners
13. Can memorial jewellery be resized or repaired?
Yes, most pieces can be resized or repaired. This is a specialist work and should not be undertaken by someone inexperienced. Please contact us first so we can advise you properly.
14. Is memorial jewellery waterproof?
Memory Within use a specialist 2 part resin formulation, originally created in New Zealand. The Non Yellowing, jewellery grade resin is waterproof but due to the nature of your jewellery, we would always recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to extremes of moisture or temperature.
15. Do you ship across the UK?
Yes, we ship UK-wide using fully tracked and insured delivery for peace of mind.
16. What metals do you use?

18. Why choose your memorial jewellery?

✔ Ethical & respectful process
✔ Experienced silversmith
✔ Trusted by families nationwide
19. How do I know my dad’s ashes are in my jewellery?
Your dad’s ashes are logged with a unique identity number, labelled and kept separate, in a locked, secured area, at every stage. We only ever work on one order at a time, so your jewellery is made using only your loved one’s ashes. The studio, where we place the ashes into the jewellery piece, is separate from the workshop (where we make and polish the jewellery). The Studio is cleaned thoroughly between each order, ensuring that there is no cross contamination between ashes. We have strict ashes handling protocols in place that are adhered to at every step. Any unused ashes are safely returned to you along with a certificate.
20. What Can I Expect When My Jewellery Comes Home?
You will be fully informed of each step of your jewellery progress, along with a leaving date and a Royal Mail tracking number if your jewellery is being posted. Alternatively, we will let you know via your funeral director when to expect your jewellery. Your jewellery will arrive securely packaged and beautifully presented in our branded, luxury gift box, with a care card, a branded jewellery polishing cloth, a jewellery certificate and a guarantee card.
21. I really don't want to post the ashes, what can i do?
That’s completely understandable. We work with funeral directors across the UK, and there’s often one local to you who may be happy to help safely transfer the ashes to us on your behalf.
If we don’t yet have a partnership near you, we’re always open to connecting with new funeral directors and would be more than happy to reach out and explore this for you. Just get in touch and we’ll do our best to help.
